Besides having great weather, The Physics Department of the University of Central Florida is a dynamic group focused both on cutting edge research and innovative education. Its entry level courses are taught in a new state of the art studio lab which uses an inquiry based approach to learning. Physics education research shows this method benefits students more than the lecture model. There are lots of opportunities for students to participate in research projects. It has a renowned faculty specializing in areas like planetary sciences, attosecond physics, condensed matter physics and nanocatalysis. Its students are encouraged to compete and have won both national and international awards. There are no limits to where they can go.
