Polar Lights Captain America model kit

This is the Polar Lights re-issue kit taken from the old 60’s Aurora kit. The re-issue comes with two upgraded faces, a war battle face and a proud stoic face. I chose the war face. I cut off the cowl wings and re-positioned them closer to caps head. Overall the parts fit together well and have nice details molded in electric blue styrene. It’s listed as 1/8 scale but i think it’s 1/7. I primed with testors satin grey, airbrushed the face/eye area with vallejo paints then sealed with clear gloss so the bare metal foil masking wouldn’t pull up the face paint. I also masked areas of caps costume with baremetal foil and airbrushed testors enamel dark sea blue base coat. I shot a highlight shade of vallejo medium blue then dry brushed a lighter vallejo blue. BM foil mask worked ok on the costume but it pulled up some paint on the face areas. I had to re-do the eyes twice and touch up the face. I masked the shield with frisket film. For the base I omitted the clear water splash parts and covered the base with spackle/baking powder for a snow winter WWII battle scene. I scratched built a burnt out wing section of a German fighter plane. If your looking for old school Captain America this is a very cool kit. You can build straight out the box or customize to your own liking. The skies the limit!
