In this tutorial, Tom Adams, a lowly educator, introduces the British and SI units or standards of measurements as they are used in physics. In physics, scientist use measurement to observe and predict the behavior of natural phenomena. There are 3 fundamental measurements: length, mass and time. The standard for length is either a foot or a meter. The standard for mass is the pound or the kilogram. The standard for time is a second.
Mr. Adams also explores the importance of significant figures as well as the scientific method as it is applied in physics.
