Determine if the system of linear equations is consistent

**Description**: In a linear algebra course you are asked to determine if the system of linear equations is consistent or inconsistent around the beginning or first few weeks of the course. There are other ways to ask the same exact question i.e. does the system have a unique, infinite or no solutions. Are the vectors in the span linearly independent or dependent and so fourth. It is very common to be asked the same question over and over in linear algebra but in a different way. The general solution to Ax=0 and Ax=b are pretty much the majority of solutions. I always say “If you cannot understand it, just put it into Ax=b. 9 out of 10 times it will be right.”
