On March 26th 1992 my 19.3-inch f/4.5 Newtonian was delivered to my Chelmsford home by Rob Hysom of Astronomical Equipment Ltd, aided by his son. This was one of the last telescopes AE ever made, after a quarter of a century of telescope building. The weather was perfect and the skies were even clear that same night! A giant 8 foot by 9 foot by 6 foot run-off shed covered the telescope when not in use. The four of us (Rob, his son, my Dad and myself) managed to erect the half ton monster in a few hours. The video shows snapshots of the assembly process. In 2008 I donated the telescope to Glyn Marsh on the Isle of Man, while I mainly concentrated on using a C14 mounted atop a Paramount ME.
